What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the practice of needling (not similar to dry needling) that penetrates the skin for therapeutic benefits. The needles are super-thin, solid and made of metals. The needles are activated through specific and gentle movements or sometimes with electrical stimulation. Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese medicine which is a very ancient practice. They (Chinese medical practitioners) believe that there are more than 2000 acupuncture points in our body that connect various meridians or pathways. These pathways create energy – what they call as Qi. The Qi is responsible for overall health condition.
The benefits
Acupuncture helps in stimulating the central nervous system. The functionality of acupuncture releases chemicals into the muscles, brain and spinal cord. The biochemical changes are responsible for stimulating the natural healing abilities of the human body while promoting emotional and physical well-being.
